Gameplay and Controls:
What game developers aim to deliver in the mobile gaming scene is console-quality titles. Gameloft was always good at delivering titles with console-quality gameplay and now they have pitched it up a notch. The Amazing Spider-Man has awesome, although sometimes choppy, gameplay. It has what you want in a typical console-like Spider-Man title. Open World Web Sling-able Environment, Free Flow Fighting Mechanism, Story Missions and Side Missions, Upgradable Character and more. The game only features about 25 Story Missions but it’ll keep you occupied with some side-missions, either simultaneously or after you’re done with the main story. I did feel it was kinda small, but that’s probably because I played like crazy and I loved it so much. Gameplay is kinda choppy on the older 4th-gen devices, but that’s bearable given the amount of fun this game provides (I’ve also heard that the game is slightly choppy on the 4S, although i have no real proof to back it up). The controls are pretty easy to use, but certain combos are difficult to master. You’ll get used to it once you play more.

Graphics and Audio:
The Amazing Spider-Man runs on Gameloft’s newer graphics engine. This engine adds well optimized shaders (sometimes not so optimized) and high resolution textures to the game. This only counts for newer devices with the A5 processors and above. On older devices, the game delivers low res textures, low res reflections and a lot of pop-in textures. But even with all this, it hasn’t spoiled the game. The fun factor outweighs all of the ugliness. All this out of the way, my main concern rises from the audio used for the game. Love the web ambiance, absolutely love the background music, but I really despise the voice acting. I know Peter is a nerd and all, but he sure doesn’t sound like how they made him sound in the game. It’s not just Peter, but Peter holds the highest rank in the leaderboards here. The game comes with the typical cheesy jokes offered by Gameloft, but I think it went a little overboard this time.

Finally:
The performance and voice acting shouldn’t hold you back from playing this awesome and revolutionary title! While it lasts, it’s fantastic!
Rated 8/10 for fantastic gameplay, an amazing open world and nonsensical voice acting.
