We all know and love Sonic, but we don’t often get to play with Tails and now, Metal Sonic!
This is by far the best Sonic The Hedgehog game I have ever played. SEGA finally got it right!
Graphics and Audio:
Usually, when speaking about Sonic, graphics are never mentioned because they’re usually poor, BUT in this new Sonic The Hedgehog 4™ Episode II, the graphics are great! This is the first Sonic game with great graphics on iOS. The usual Sonic music plays in the background and sounds enhanced and much better. All in all, when it comes to the graphics and audio, this game is superior to all its predecessors. The screenshots don’t do it justice. Playing this on a Retina display is what Sonic should’ve have been years ago.
Gameplay and Controls:
Once again, Sonic has majorly improved in this sequel. Sonic and Tails work together, flying up and above when needed, speeding open doors and much more. If you own the first episode of the game, you can unlock a whole world of Metal Sonic gameplay. Playing under water can be difficult, but you get the hang of it quickly. Make sure you get those air bubbles or Sonic won’t be able to stay down too long. Tails can help you get up and out if there’s air above, most of the time. Metal Sonic’s great, but is hard at some points. This is a major revamped game, compared to every other Sonic game for iOS or even those old SEGA Dreamcast games. It’s like SEGA took all the best parts from the classic, mixed it in with new features, brought many of the characters together and made something awesome. Now, for the controls… The controls have never been better on iOS, either! I personally prefer the iOS controls over the Xbox controls. That’s my personal preference, but they really made one great game this time. Every other Sonic either failed to make our Top iPhone Apps for more than a couple weeks or looked terrible on newer-gen iDevices. This Sonic The Hedgehog 4™ Episode II is fun and the controls are near perfect. If you’re a fan of Sonic The Hedgehog and his friends, the gameplay will not disappoint and the controls are superior to the Sonic games for iOS before it. You can even team up with a friend via Bluetooth and take control of Sonic and Tails as they battle against Dr. Eggman and Metal Sonic!

Whether you’ve always been a fan of this crazy hedgehog or if you’re new to the gaming arena, Sonic The Hedgehog 4™ Episode II is one addicting, fun, replayable and awesome game! SEGA has finally created a Sonic I’m proud to put into the Top 5 iPhone Apps at iNsaneOS! This is far superior to any Sonic The Hedgehog game before it and pretty much a clone of the console game with perfect controls, audio, gameplay, fun and everything!

Does anybody know if this runs on the new iPad in retina resolution or regular iPad resolution?
I believe this runs in “retina” resolution on the new iPad, as well.
